Our roots are in the Scottish Borders
 
KDC Electrical & Renewable Energy Contractors Ltd traces its roots back to 2012, when Kevin Campbell returned to his home in the Scottish Borders after eight years serving as a Submarine Mechanical & Electrical Engineer in the Royal Navy.  Using his specialist electrical knowledge and engineering discipline, he founded a traditional electrical contracting business that quickly earned a reputation for high‑quality workmanship and personal service.

Over a decade later, that small business has grown into one of the Scottish Borders’ most trusted renewable energy installers and electrical contractors. 

As a company, we are MCS‑certified solar installers and we employ,  NAPIT‑registered electricians.  These accreditations demonstrate competence, safety and compliance; NAPIT members must hold valid insurances and are assessed regularly to ensure they can work to the latest health and safety standards , while MCS Certification is the UK’s quality mark for small‑scale renewable energy technologies and guarantees that installations meet rigorous safety and performance standards.
 
Growing into renewable energy specialists
 
As demand for green energy solutions grew, Kevin expanded the business to include KDC Renewable Energy.

Today, both our electrical contracting and renewable energy divisions operate under one umbrella as KDC Electrical Contractors Ltd.  We remain a family‑run, community‑focused business rooted in the Scottish Borders, and we continue to invest in training, certification and innovative technologies to deliver reliable, future‑proof power solutions.
